Ling's Story

1.What is your exact origin and where were you born?
I was born in Hunan, China.

2.What is your childhood memory of food and gathering?

As a child, food was for me a substance that satisfied the needs of the body;

Gatherings are a way for people to bond with each other.

3.What age did you learn how to cook buns and sticky rice?

When I was 29, I started to learn how to make buns and sticky rice with my friends, but not too many times; when I was 33, I really started to spend more time learning how to make them.

4.Before you became vegan, did you often eat buns and sticky rice?

Before I became a vegan, I didn’t eat it very often. I vaguely remember that when I was in high school, I would occasionally buy buns for breakfast, but most of the buns at that time were meat-based. Sticky rice was a staple food that my family would cook during festivals when I was young.

5.What year did you become Vegan? And what inspired you to begin this small business of Shao Mai and Bao Zi?

I'm a pure diet begins in 2015. I was working in an electronic product company at the time. Although I could complete the tasks given by the company well, I basically didn't know how to live, such as cooking, washing clothes and cleaning; I also tried to do good things for my family, colleagues and friends, but found that many times the results went bad.

When I was in this dilemma and trying to figure out how to solve it, I met my precious friend who is a pure diet. She is older than me, has her own company, family and children, and theoretically she may have a harder time balancing work, family, and living than me, as well as managing relationships. But when I met her, I was impressed with her calm, balance and good interpersonal relationships.

I thought this was the state she has always been in. Later I discovered she had faced similar problems to me in the past, and there were three important factors that made her to change: pure diet, learning and practice.

I asked her why pure diet? She shared: You have driven a car before. If you want the car to function properly, do you need to inject it with matching gasoline? I said ”Yes”.

She said: Because choosing a pure diet will help us stop ingesting the negative energy such as fear, anger and anxiety released by animals during the process of being killed, and absorb healthy energy for the car of our body and mind to ensure its operation. So that we can face the people and things around us with a calmer mind and awareness.

After changing to a pure diet, I tried to manage my emotions. After practicing for a period of time, I found that many times I was demanding the people around me unconsciously, or hoping that they could meet my expectations. When it was not met, I would be unhappy and even blame them. I need to think more from the perspective of others, so that I can better handle interpersonal relationships.

In the past, when I was unfamiliar with something, if I felt that I couldn't make it perfect, or that all the details were the best, I would easily feel intimidated, or even give up. I remember when I started practicing cooking in the past, I could spend hours looking for a recipe because I always felt like it wasn't good enough or I couldn't make it.

After being a pure diet and learning , I realized that life is a process of continuous improvement. Perfection means there is no room for improvement. What I need is take actions, not just in my imagination. On the path of life, many things and truths can be understood by doing. I am also very grateful to the like-minded friends around me, who have always encouraged and accompanied me. During the epidemic, we studied recipes together and posted them on pureliferaha platform. I find that finding recipes and cooking is not as difficult and scary as I thought, doing it step by step, my confidence has also increased, and my habits are gradually changing.

I am very grateful that pure diet, learning the truth and practice have brought me such a big change, which also strengthened my determination and confidence to study. There are many people in this world who are looking for peace of mind and soul upgrade. I hope to share my changes with these people, hoping that they can become more and more happier like me, and their lives have more meaning and value. This is why I sell “Pure diet Baozi”. Purediet is a door, open this door to welcome new life.

6.What helps you decide flavors for your recipes?

After I became a vegan, I also met some friends who are following pure diet, and we occasionally practiced pure diet together. The taste of buns was discovered when I was making buns with my friends. When I tasted this taste, I thought it was good, so I decided to further develop it.

The taste of shao mai was discovered when my friends and I decided to share some healthy and delicious pure diet recipes online after Prague began to isolate in 2020. At that time, we found some good vegan bloggers on Instagram, Youtube and vegan websites, and this shao mai recipe came from a blogger in Instagram.

At that time, I was attracted by the blogger's passion, hard work and rich experience in vegan research and development, so I tried this recipe. After trying it out, I shared them with Chinese and foreign friends. Most of them thought it tasted good, so I decided to sell it as a pure diet food product to more people.

Flavors carry memories. A friend likes to eat warm Chinese buns and soy milk because this reminds him of his childhood in China. I hope to share this beautiful memory of home with European people and inspire them to find the home of the heart.

7.What is your small big dream for LING BUNS b-b business?

Confucius said: "Influencing others through correcting ourselves." Starting changing myself and my lifestyle by doing this business, I hope to get to know more like-minded people and share my experiences with them.

8.Does cooking bring a different balance and outlook to life in in Prague? Serving the business food industry from your kitchen?

We are what we eat. Choosing a diet is voting for a lifestyle. Not consuming onions and garlic is to live a more environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle inside out.

Nowadays, more and more people are trying to live a minimalist, plastic-free, or zero-waste lifestyle while recycling trash to reduce the pollution we create for Earth's planet. Why? to build a more beautiful, comfortable, healthier, and cleaner living environment for ourselves and future generations.

But have we considered reducing the "trash" and recycling the pollution we produce for our body, mind, and soul? Imagine the body is the house for the mind and soul, the house, our body, instead of being clean but full of dust and trash; how do our mind and soul feel living inside this body? Very uncomfortable. Anxiety, negative emotions, depression, etc., can arise.

Where are the trash and dust from? Food is one of the critical resources. The five pungent spices carry murky energy that stimulates our desires and pollutes our consciousness. Changing to a pure diet is the starting point of creating a better environment for our mind and soul.

Sustainability lifestyle comes from a sustainability minded. People value sustainability more while doing business and living their life. For example, carbon neutrality reduces carbon emissions using renewable energy such as wind, geothermal, and solar power and zero-energy systems like passive daytime radiative cooling and nuclear power.
